D-Link's AC2600 router has serious speed under the hood

And for only $150, you get four gigabit landports, two USB ports, one of which is USB 3.0. Advanced AC SmartBeam, which is just another name for beamforming, and an 800 megahertz dual-core processor. But it only has 16 megabytes of flash memory and 128 megabytes of ram. This could bottleneck your network in the future, when you have lots of connected devices. Its AC 2600 rating means theoretical speeds of 800 megabits per second on the 2.4 gigahertz band, and 1,733 Gigabits per second on it's 5 gigahertz band. In reality, at 7 feet away and the 5 gigahertz band as out through put of 927 megabits per second. It's pretty amazing for wireless, but it did drop off to 283 megabits per second and 50 feet away but that should still help you eliminate WiFi dead zone. Especially if you have a larger home. On 2.4 gigahertz I got around 164 megabits per second everywhere I tested, even at 50 feet away. Those super long antennas really do the job. The initial router set up was easy but saving a new setting took up to 30 seconds each time. It felt like forever. For most people though this won't be an issue because the default settings on the DIR 882 will be just It's fine. However customizing this router, that'll take some extra time. All in all the D-Link DIR 882 has great large home coverage for an affordable price. Its minimal shortcomings shouldn't shy you away from trying it out.
