These smart dolls help young girls get into coding
[MUSIC]
This is Maria.
She's a girl on a mission to get girls interested in coding.
Maria is one of five characters made by SmartGurlz.
They're fashion dolls with motorized scooters that you drive around using code.
So I'm about 20 years past the target audience on this toy and I already know my math skills are not great.
But I've been driving Maria around on her self-balancing scooter using code I built in the SugarCoded App.

The app comes with missions to complete like guiding your dog to a hot dog stand in Central Park.
You can also just drive around like a remote controled car.
Smart girls isn't going to turn your daughter into a die hard [INAUDIBLE].
At 79, 99, it's a bit of a steep introduction and while the sugar coated ads have activities.
It could use more.
Because girls tend to lose interest in stem subjects in their preteen years, maybe a doll like Maria could help drive them towards coding.
Tough crowd.
