The Linksys E8350 router is powerful and odd at the same time.
Hi guys, I'm **** Ngo, and this is the AC2400 Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Router, model E8350 from Linksys.
Now, this one here is different from any other router I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them.
Take a look here.
I'm going to plug it in right now.
Here you go.
The question is, is it on?
Well it is, but maybe it's not because I can't tell.
You can't either.
There's no power source light.
In fact, there is no light at all.
Odd, isn't it.
Another odd thing is that this is the latest Quad Stream 802.11AC router.
Meaning it's offered the top speed on the 5 gigahertz frequency band of up to 1733 megabits per second and up to 600 megabits per second on the 2.4 gigahertz frequency band at the same time but on the inside it uses an old interface that belonged to the E series from Linksys that came out a few years ago now there's nothing wrong with this interface I actually like it.
Is there responsive, easy to use, where it doesn't allow for in depth customization of the wi-fi settings.
For example, on the file you have here, you cannot make the router work just in the AC mode, or you cannot set the wi-fi networks to operate exclusively in the 40 megahertz or 18 megahertz channel width.
Basically the router here favor compatibility over performance and that mean this by the fact that it supports the fastest 1.4 gigahertz processors.
It might not deliver the fastest wi-fi speed compared with others.
And that was the case in my testing.
Now this one is not slow.
Actually it is very fast offering the sustained real world Wi-Fi speed up to 513 mega beeps per second.
Really fast [UNKNOWN] But compare with Spears, it is about the average.
Now this one here is a gigabit router, meaning it come with four gigabit LAN port, and one gigabit WAN or internet port.
Over here you gonna see you got, also have a one USB 3.0 port, and another port that can work either as USB 2.0, or an [UNKNOWN].
Now you can use this port here to hold a printer or a storage device, and what you do, you turn this router here into a very good NAS server.
In my testing, it offered the sustained speed of up to 85 megabytes per second via a gigabit connection.
That is as fast as some dedicated NAS servers.
So we know this one here is quite a good home router, especially considering the fact that it costs the cheapest among other quad stream router, just $250.
Now if that's not cheap enough for you, that's because quad stream is still so damn expensive for now.

Oh, by the way, check this out.
I got two.
That's right.
That's not new.
That's because I'm Dongo and this has been the First Look at the AC 2400 Gigabit Dual Band Wi-fi Router from Linksys
