I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor with CNET and this is the Sony Vaio T13 Touch which is identical to Sony's 13-inch T Series Ultrabook from earlier this year except that it's now running on Windows 8 and it's 1366x768 pixel resolution, 13.3-inch LCD is now a touch screen with edge to edge glass.
So now, instead of using the touch pad to
access things, you can get fingerprints all over your screen while you work.
The 3rd Generation 1.7 gigahertz Core i5 processor backed by 6 gigs of memory of 500 gig hybrid hard drives with 32 gigs of flash memory and integrated intel graphics has no problems handling the new interface or everyday tasks and battery life is solid with a capable of running more than 5 hours.
And all of that in a body that's just under 4-lbs and a little
more than ½-inch thick.
The screen is responsive but if you don't wanna use it, you can use the touch pad to accomplish some of the same gestures.
Also while Sony includes painting and drawing software from Art Rage, it's a bit awkward to use especially since the screen bounces a bit when you poke at it and it doesn't completely open to a flat position.
Overall though, if you think you may want to have access to touch features with its traditional laptop design, it's not a bad way to go.
