A translation earpiece is coming soon.
Traveling to a place where you don't speak the language could be daunting.
That's why universal translator would be great.
This is the Translate One2One by Lingmo International, an Australian startup.
It's not a universal translator but it can translate between eight languages including French, Chinese, and English.
The earpiece does not require wi-fi or a bluetooth connection to a phone to work.
However, the translation earpiece works when each user is wearing the earpiece or you can download an app version.
That makes sense in the context this device was announced, and [UNKNOWN] translate one-to-one was introduced at the United Nation's artificial intelligence for good summit.

Lingmo claims the One2One will accurately translate spoken conversations and written text within three to five seconds.
The device uses IBM Watson's natural language processor and language translation APIs.
The Lingmo One2One is available for purchase today at $179.
A two pack costs 229.
The company says to expect the device to ship in July.
Those are some pretty lofty claims.
