>> Eric Franklin: Hi everyone this is Eric Franklin from CNET.com and today we're taking a first look at the Lenovo L215P. This is a 21.5 inch monitor with a 16x9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1920x1080. The Lenovo L215Ps glossy black chassis contrasts nicely with this light grey neck making it stand out visually from other monitors. The middle of the top bezel houses an integrated webcam and a oval shape foot stand measures nearly 10 inches in width by a depth of 7.1 inches. When knocked from the sides the display wobbles and slides considerably but not to the point where we felt it was in danger of toppling. Lenovo includes HDMI and VGA connections so you'll have to invest in an HDMI DVI cable if you only have a DVI connection on your PC. The display includes 3 USB downstream connections and 1 USB upstream connection. There's also an audio out an audio import for directly connecting the display to a external audio device but no speakers are included. However, there is a 25 degree tilt option and the capability to rotate the screen right and left 90 degrees. Pressing your finger against a bottom right hand corner of the bezel brings up the hidden on screen display. The blue glowing buttons disappear after a couple moments of inactivity and there is no option in OSD to show them at all times. Picture options in the OSD consists of brightness and contrast and there are 3 presets including text, internet and video. We use the L215Ps video preset to check out World of Worlds on DVD and House of Flying Daggers on Blu-ray. In World of Worlds we found that the color quality on the L215P was slightly washed out. Lenovo sells it for a list price of $250 and if you can live without DVI or don't mind purchasing an extra cable, the L215P is a low price option that's worth it. Once again this is Eric Franklin it's been a first look at the Lenovo L215P.
