It's the latest version of the company's 10X Pocket Megazoom and is nearly identical to its predecessors the SX110 IS and the SX100 IS. The big differences are that it's now 10 megapixels up from 2008's 9 megapixel SX110 and uses Canon's Digit 4 Image Processor, which along with enhanced battery life, adds advanced face and motion detection features and improved red eye correction. It's not much of a step forward just offering a little bit of new technology but keeping the old price tag of $249. If you like being able to change shudder speed and aperture you can do that with the SX120 with its full manual and semi manual shooting modes. It goes fully automatic too and really everything in between so there are options for every type of user. Plus the controls are simple and there's a nice big 3 inch LCD on back. Unfortunately, like most megazoom cameras the SX120 is a bit slow; however, it does produce better photos than much of the competition just not by much. In the end though this Canon falls behind competitors in features making it a less attractive buy. I'm Josh Goldman and that's a look at the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS.
