Amazon announces new Echo Show with 8-inch display

Let me introduce you to echo show eight. This really takes all the great things that customers have loved from the 10 inch echo show, and combined it with what we've already learned this year from echo h five. It has an HD eight inch display. Very bright Viewable in sunlight and it borrows powerful audio like we had from the echo show 10. But it also takes the privacy shutter that we had an echo five and integrates it in the eight inch form factor and also the form factor that people have left. We were pulling this all together at an incredibly affordable price of just $129. It will be available for pre order starting today and shipping in time for the holidays. And this morning you have noticed that the discovery and Food Network launched a brand new service called Food Network Kitchen. I'm excited about this, it's coming in October and it's a new service for obviously phones and tablets But I'm excited to announce today that echo and Alexa will be food network's exclusive voice service. And we're going to be bringing that same experience to echo shows including live and on demand episodes. And cooking classes that people can do on demand and live as well. And this will becoming from the unbelievable that they have people like Allan Brown and Jim it's supper interesting. Let me give you a demonstration of what this looks like. This is on demand obviously. And you'll see down along the bottom that I have the ability to kinda step through the various different segments of this instructional video. But Alexa me she's always here. And so she can help me. So I can do things like Alexa, how many chicken thighs do I need? The recipe calls for for six ounce chicken thighs. Without having a recipe separately, I can pull these up and then it'll give me a little overlay on the graphics to be able to give me that information. And then if I love this, and I do love this recipe, I can just say. Alexa, save recipe. I just like chicken thighs, I like the flavor. The recipe calls for four-six pounds chicken thighs. Alexa, save. Cook and [INAUDIBLE] eat for sure. So I'm gonna start with those- Alexa, go home. Fresh herbs for the salsa, we have some- And so we get this great interaction with The cooking stars that they have there. And one of the things I really love about the service itself is you're going to be able to have live classes as well. I know I'm, but Well, the reason I'm excited about it is because I get to be basically any kitchen anywhere in the world. And I can teach people anywhere in the world how to cook. And not only that, the other service also has, I don't know, something like 80,000 recipes. So after 10,000, I just call it a gazillion There' just lots and lots of recipes. Anything you wanna cook is basically up on the app. Yeah, I have to say, we talked last week but I'm a big fan and I have to tell your rib recipe with the horseradish and honey glaze, It is my favorite thing, I cook it every summer. [UNKNOWN] [LAUGH], look at you. Right here for you. I'm reading your mind, Dave. I got it. I know I heard that like every once in a while you kind of try to mess with my recipes a little bit. Add a couple of ingredients here a little bit of honey there. I do. I get a little nervous where people go rogue on my recipes, but that's the whole point. Pointless thing, get people more comfortable in the kitchen, and then they can kind of use your recipe and then play along as they like. Well, I appreciate it and thanks for all your support.
