Five things to know about the Lynk & Co 02
[MUSIC]
We're in Amsterdam, where Lynk & Co have unveiled their third car, which inexplicably is called the 02.
It's set to disrupt the automotive industry and bring us a whole new way of thinking about mobility.
But here are five things you need to know

First of all, this isn't a car you'll own in the traditional sense.
Lincoln Co want to sell you a subscription to a car for as little as a month up to several years.
You pay a set fee that give you the car insurance maintenance basically, everything except the fuel.
The car is aimed at Millennials who, according to Lynk & Co, have no interest in owning a car, and later on haggling with a car dealer and figuring out what trim level and options they would want.
Instead of millions of different combinations only.
Eight versions of the car will be available.
All will come fully loaded with every bell and whistle included.
Merely the difference in color and the services you subscribe to will be different.

Link and Co they wanted to work with Designers who are new to the industry to create a fresh car that would appeal to a younger audience.
What they've actually delivered with the 02 is actually a fairly conventional looking crossover SUV.
There are some unique styling cues around the front and the rear lights.
Aside from this it will blend in with traffic without standing out too much.
Details on the engine are a little vague at the moment but there will be a front-wheel drive version with 156 or 180 horsepower and an all-wheel drive variant with 190 horsepower.
We don't know the exact cylinder count or displacement yet.
The 02 will be built on the Volvo CMA platform that underpins the current XC 40 which makes sense since JI Lee Lincoln coast parent company also owns Volvo.
The Lynk & Co 02 will go on sale in Europe in 2020.
Instead of a traditional dealership network, the car will be sold directly to customers through online store and a selection of actual real world shops.
Not dissimilar as to how Tesla have been selling their cars.
Although Lynk & Co have said that they will be coming to the US at some point, no timelines for that have been announced as yet.

So will Lincoln Co truly disrupt the industry and become the Spotify of cars?
Or will other major manufacturers catch up with their mobility solutions and push them out of the market?
Only time will tell.
