Quick Take

CNET did not review the Samsung UN32EH4003, but we did review a very similar product, the Samsung UN32EH4000.

According to Samsung's Web site the two 32-inch, 60Hz, 720p, LED-based LCD TVs are basically identical.

The only picture quality-related difference we could discern among the TVs' specifications is that the EH4000 lists "3,000,000:1" as its "Dynamic Contrast Ratio," while the EH4003 does not list that spec (the Web site says "N/A" instead of listing a number). Contrast ratio specifications are basically fake, however, and we'd be surprised if this spec difference affected picture quality whatsoever.

In other words, we expect the two TVs to have the same picture quality.

The only other difference between the two is that the EH4003 lacks the optical digital audio output found on the EH4000. That means its built-in HDTV tuner, used for receiving over-the-air antenna and unscrambled QAM cable signals, cannot pass audio (both TVs lack analog audio outputs). If you're one of the few who actually uses the TV's tuner (as opposed to, say, a cable or satellite box) then you won't be able to hook any kind of external audio device to it; you'll have to rely on the TV's built-in speakers.
