Toys "R" Us falling short on Christmas deliveries

December 23, 1999
Two Seattle lawyers today filed a class-action suit against Toys "R" Us claiming that the e-tailer "knowingly and deceptively accepted orders for Christmas presents the company knew it could not deliver."

The suit was filed in King County Superior Court in Washington state.

The suit attempts to represent all Toysrus.com Web site customers who bought toys on the Web site by Dec. 14, 1999--a deadline Toysrus.com set for Christmas delivery--but didn't receive their gifts by Dec. 25.

Toys "R" Us could not immediately be reached for comment.
