SafeSurf's Declaration of Independence

  • Post a comment
Caught up in apparent postholiday euphoria, SafeSurf, the parents' online organization, has released its tongue-in-cheek Declaration of an Independent Internet.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all information is created equal," goes the new preamble. The complete document is located at http://www.safesurf.com/wave.

SafeSurf is currently promoting a Web rating system that assigns a code to child-safe Web sites. Parents who use the SafeSurf software could then limit their children's Web access to SafeSurf-approved sites.
