Intel on April 18, 2005, released its first WiMax chip. Pictured is the WiMax board that Intel has made available to developers. The plug-in radio unit at the top right is swapped out for different frequencies and has a small gold connection for the antenna.

what is the proposed frequency band for wimax? the claims of 30 miles still seem highly optimistic, no, unrealistic, unless there is line of sight. what power will the base and user devices transmit to achieve this 1-3 miles coverage area they claim?
