Good, now let the competition begin
Now with, creative declaring war, sony leaping in with both head and feet, and now Mashuita(panasonic) joining the fray, and all the other makers following shortly, looks like Apple will be under heavy siege on many fronts simultaneously, little wonder why apple is seeking to burden the accessory suppliers with additional fees and CERTIFICATION charges. Now , let the fun begin!

Apple historically loses at this point. Once the profit margin becomes thin they either run away or go for the "ours is better so pay us more" angle. Hopefully it will be different this time.
