SCO Deserves It.
SCO, like MicroSoft, is a company that has no concept of innovation. Theft and blind accusations are where the money is for these two companies.
If I had a dollar for every line of code Micro$oft has stolen, I'd be richer than ol' Gates. Then again, if I had that money I'd become an investor in Apple Computers and watch them innovate and create 90% of the standards out there today.

Silly
I agree, SCO deserves it. They are delaying and ironically ensuring their demise with this Linux litigation. They need to burn in the same hell as most lawyers will.

But... Apple and MS both stole their "innovation" from smalltalk. Only Bill Gates asked if he could.

And IPods suck, who wants to carry a hard-drive around in their pocket.

Oh, I see
So you mean I can go to your house and paint your dog green, put graffiti in front of your door, tell your neighbors you sucks because I "think" you are? If you want to glorify those "hackers", go ahead, but they only know how to do shady things and too afraid to face the truth. As of Apple, if its iPod and iTunes are not available to Windows users, you think the popularity will be this huge today? Keep dreaming :)

Criminal behaviour
This is truly criminal behaviour to deface another's property. I do not agree with the actions of the vandals who defaced SCO's property nor do I agree with SCO own behaviour and attitude toward the Linux and open source communities. While SCO has a right to defends it's rights it should do so in a fair and proper manner. The open source groups should use all legal and ethical means possible to stop SCO campaign of FUD.

Apple
Sorry but Apple was very smart when they opened up the iPod
and iTunes to the Windows crowd. As with the iPod and iTunes
Apple products just work. Very little worry of adware, spyware,
viruses. How many of the purchasers of new iPods and iTunes
will now give the other Apple products a try?

Like you know,
It's quite obvious that you don't have a clue about
what SCO has been doing to the OSS community. If someone came to your house and shat on your front lawn, you are telling me you wouldn't do something or feel compelled to do something after a while. Get real. This is nothing compared to the trouble the SCO group has placed on the OSS community. I don't usually condone site defacements, since they don't actually do anything, but at least for me ,as a member of the OSS community, it was quite nice to hear about this. Props to realloc.

Cry me a river...
This was actually a decent defacement where from all appearances it looks like just one image was changed and so slightly as to look normal. Not like they took down the site and replaced the page with "Nude Girls Now!" or something. I have to agree with Bib, I dont normally condone this type of hack, but its been overly deserved for some time. If you people kept up with this whole ridiculous fight SCO has mounted against everyone and the track record of its CEO, you'd understand why this happened.

Why not?
Let's say you opened up a house of prostitution in my
neighborhood, and somehow the police chief said it was okay.
Your house is mysteriously gonna burn, daddy, if the sheriff is
corrupt. And MS is corrupt as all hell.

Me Too!!!
I hate all that stability! I mean, why was
<cntrl><alt><del> invented for anyway?
Personally, I love viruses and spyware!
Why would I want my PC to be up all year anyway?
MS forever!

Oh, right
Because Microsoft servers NEVER get compromised.

Let's see... Linux is open source, the code is made publicly available.

Microsoft is closed source, the code get's stolen and passed around anyways.

Linux has been open to millions of eyes to review and find bugs with.

Microsoft's code is now in the hands of questionable individuals likely to find any of the hundreds of holes lurking about and exploit them without public disclosure (that is, with no patch from MS to save you).

And you've had it with Unix? Wow.

I assume this was a joke
I assume you are joking about that since it seems obvious you have never dealt with Linux or UNIX. Besides what does a web site compromise have to do with the operating system? Most cases this is the result of poor configurations, maintenance, patching, improper firewalls and other issues. SCO has had its share of problems and I would suspect this is more a result of poor maintenance than what the operating system or web server is running.

However the compromise is inexcusable. It does nothing for the Linux cause except show those in power that Linux is associated with juveniles and juvenile behavior. It shows that Linux programmers may take that battle to my company if for some reason they dont like me. That is hardly the impression that you want give if you want to be taken seriously. If you want Linux to grow; then grow up. I'm not a fan of SCO by a long shot; but this is nothing to be proud of

GO FREE SOFTWARE!!!
Everyone should have access to source and finished products FREE!!!
The government will save tons of money by deploying all the defense systems on Linux. Imagine all our defense system running Linux... FREE SOURCE!!!
Terrorist group, or groups, can then have access to source and develope a nice application with a tiny routine that will allow them to access these servers and shut them down, or worst, shut missiles to our own cities... ... Yes, let's give them the tools and open the doors for them... FREE!
If I am afraid to fly on an airplane running Microsoft, because I don't know when it will shut itself down, I will be more afraid of running our military and defense systems on something that anyone, and who knows who, can have access to. Not even my business.

what?
You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. Linux is open source, yet it is more secure then windows. Any punk kid with no knowledge of computer systems can hack into a windows box within seconds. That same kid would have better luck with the lottery then breaking into a properly run linux box.

I am not saying that linux is not hackable, just much harder. Just because you can see the source code, doesn't mean it is less secure. For proof, all you need to do is look at the crap MS pinches off. If hiding code equaled better security, MS would have the best security in the world, not the worst.

Your statements probably make Bill & co smile, since they depend on the ignorance of its customers to keep them in line.

I disagree.
Linux is not less secure than Windows, and much of the security Windows offers today is probably as a result of competition from Linux. Part of the security of Linux lies in the fact that it can be changed, so that people and governments can make it even more secure. As an example, look at SELinux, to which the NSA contributed. Such a security refinement would not have been possible with Windows, and if it were, its closed-source nature would have made it highly suspicious. Linux is probably being widely used by many governments right now. Also, in my own computer security experience, my Windows systems have been hacked twice, while my Linux systems never have.
