Tandem Computers and Computer Associates will collaborate to deliver fault-tolerant, clustering technologies.

Computer Associates will provide new operational management capabilities for platforms enabled by the Tandem's ServerNet cluster interconnect technology. Such systems currently include Compaq products as well as Windows NT Server.

The companies will jointly deliver a cluster-aware version of CA-Unicenter for the management of Tandem and other clustered environments, including Windows NT, Unix, and NonStop Himalaya servers. Also, Tandem will standardize on CA-Unicenter for all its server platforms.

As a result of this joint work, Tandem clients will have access to fully-integrated, multiplatform systems and network management tools that will enable them to manage Tandem cluster systems as part of their heterogeneous global networks, the company said.
