EBT releases beta management system

EBT today released a beta version of its DynaBase Web Management System for Web masters charged with managing large corporate and commercial Web sites.

DynaBase combines content management capabilities with a Web development system for servers from both Netscape Communications and Microsoft.

The system provides remote authoring, version control, link management, automatic indexing, content validation, fielded searching, and integrated scripting, according to the company. In contrast to other Web management tools that require a specific HTML or graphics editor, the DynaBase software can be used in conjunction with any third-party tool.

The system includes both an add-on that plugs in to the server and client software that allows groups of authors and developers to work together on Web projects from remote clients that access the same DynaBase server to load data and launch authoring tools.

The company expects to ship the final version of the system priced at $2,500 for the server and ten clients at the end of the summer. The DynaBase client will initially run on Windows 95 and Windows NT while the server will at first run on Netscape servers for Windows NT. The plug-in for Microsoft servers and additional Unix platforms will be available shortly thereafter, officials said.
