I guess it must be time to Hype Facebook by the Big media. I guess hyping 2nd life did not get anywhere, so on to hype the next Silicon Valley VC funded company.
Get a life people. Technology should make your life easier to get out door to meet people in real life and not people you have not seen (ala facebook) which means they are most likely scammers from Nigeria or Gahna :(
AS for me, I prefer Zero friend on Facebook and 1 in real world.
I agree with part of what you say in that technology should not replace friends we can see face-to-face but Facebook and email do help me keep in touch with friends who have moved out of town, family across the country, and new friends in other countries that I would never have the money to visit. Technology has an upside but it is good to be careful not to spend all day on the PC at the expense of meeting real people.
