Curiosity's Gale Crater panoramic vistas (pictures)
NASA releases 360-degree panoramas of Curiosity's Gale Crater landing site on Mars.
With the masthead fully extended and the Curiosity rover's systems coming to life on the surface of Mars, NASA is beginning to return stunning views of the Red Planet, and today the agency released two stunning 360-degree panoramas from inside the Gale Crater.

From inside the Gale Crater on Mars, NASA's Curiosity rover recently returned this 360-degree, high-resolution image taken with the navigation cameras mounted on the extended mast. The mast's shadow is seen near the center of the panorama, with the rim of Gale Crater to the left and the base of Mount Sharp to the center-right.
