There will be one last hurrah with the release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. After that, Adobe will focus on HTML5 for its mobile development efforts.
The move also impacts Flash on televisions, but won't put a damper on Flash deployments for desktop and laptop browsers.
Android users will continue to get bug fixes and security updates, but no new versions after 11.1.
Some people held out hope that Flash would eventually land on iOS. Many others just simply got along without it.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth since the announcement, but some people may feel like they're missing out on the go-go days of Flash with wiggling Web sites and bouncing navigation links.
