Move over, Apple -- there might be another smartwatch entering the fray.
An unnamed Korean forum has posted images of what could be a Samsung smartwatch, Slashgear is reporting today. Slashgear did not, however, link to the forum posting.
The images published by Slashgear show black-and-white display screenshots that Slashgear says measure 500x500 pixels. It's not clear, though, whether the watch comes with a 500x500 display or the images were crunched down.
Some of the images themselves show time being displayed, while others illustrate the ability to choose other entertainment options like music. The screenshots indicate that whatever the device is that's pumping out the images, it only supports black and white.
According to Slashgear, the forum posting made mention of the device being a watch.
A spotlight has been thrust upon the smartwatch industry lately as more details emerge on Apple's reported plans to launch an "iWatch." That product is reportedly being developed by a 100-person team and could come with curved glass and a 1.5-inch OLED display.
Evidence that the images posted on the Korean forum site are in fact a watch is extremely thin and should be taken with a grain of salt. Even more doubt is cast on the images when one considers that they're affixed with the "Samsung Galaxy Altius" name. Last month, Samsung-tracking site Sammobile reported that the next-generation Galaxy S device might have been code-named Altius.
Samsung declined CNET's request for comment on the Slashgear report.
