Sounds like a World Of Warcraft problem.
Many in China are addicted to that game.

Nothing unusual here
Another case of addictive behavior, poor self-control, and lax parenting; only in this case it has to do with video gaming.

Numerous studies show the same sort of thing happens even more often with people addicted to drugs, alcohol, and gambling. There are people with exercise and eating disorder addictions; but they don't 'seem' to have the same sort of violent reactions to impediments to their addictions.
And heaven knows how often I've seen kids throw a tantrum and throw stuff around when someone tells them to turn off the boob tube and go outside and play.

That boy had more problems than wanting to be on the net
The boy should have been on medication. Long ago.

Silliness
BS Propaganda. China is against any open communication in general (i.e. internet) - it spreads the "evils" of the West. This is their way of spreading "proof" of their stance on it. I'm doubtful this ever happened, and if it did - that the facts even vaguely resemble the "official" version put forward by their news agencies.
