Universal Access incompatibility may cause Cinch to crash iTunes 9.1

If you have upgraded iTunes to the latest version (9.1), you may find that the program will crash when performing specific tasks, including opening the column browser view to list available artists, genres, and albums. This may only happen if the songs are in list view, but it may also happen in other views as well.

The problem seems to be caused by an issue between iTunes and Universal Access' support for assisted devices. This feature is used by the application Cinch, which is a utility designed to provide easy window resizing on screen. You may have it installed to manage windows for many applications including the Finder and Web browsers, but it is designed to interface with all OS X windows including iTunes and seems to have trouble when the column browser is enabled.

The developers at Irradiated Software have found and corrected the incompatibility, so if you use Cinch and have found iTunes crashing, be sure to either uninstall Cinch or upgrade it to the latest version. Version 1.0.2 can be downloaded from Cinch's Web site.

For those who do not have Cinch installed, try turning off the option "Enable access for assisted devices" in the Universal Access system preferences.
