Some users have found that iTunes will not fully play movie trailers in the iTunes store. Instead of completing, the movie files will only play the first few seconds and then pause.

Apple Discussions poster Oliver Denman1 "When browsing the films section [in the iTunes store], I find that when I click the 'view trailer' button, the trailer only plays for a few seconds."

This problem does not appear to be related to users' connections since several with this problem have high-speed connections with no firewall or other computers on the network that could be interfering with the connection. Additionally, users have found that the longer they wait at the store before clicking the "View Trailer" button, the more that will be played when they finally click the button.

It seems the iTunes store may be downloading the movie in the background, and when the user starts playing the file the download stops. While there are no known fixes to this problem, affected users might try the following:

Change the streaming buffer size Open the iTunes preferences and in the "Advanced" section change the Streaming Buffer Size to a different value.

Make iTunes completely load previews before playing In the "Store" section of the iTunes preferences, check the option to "Load complete previews before playing."
