Yahoo Mail suffers 'brief' outage

A "small fraction" of Yahoo Mail users couldn't get to their e-mail Thursday, the company said.

The outage affected less than 0.5 percent of users for less than 20 minutes, Yahoo said. "The problem has now been resolved," the company said.

Yahoo Mail has 280 million users worldwide, according to ComScore, so even small outages can affect many people. Yahoo isn't the only company to have recent blemishes on its record: Comcast had an e-mail outage on Saturday, and Google's Gmail went down in February.

If Yahoo uses AT&T or similar provider, then there was an outage. The internet has been out for over a day now. Some stupid jerk cut the cables at one of AT&T's distribution centers (or whatever they are called). There's a reward for $100,000 for any information regarding the person who is responsible.

Their page wouldn't load on my Sony Ericsson Z710i today... It told me that their page was not complaint with my device or something to that effect... Yahoo is clearly up to something.

I agree with Hillary; Yahoo has had "issues" for the past few weeks or so. And they
haven't been very responsive when you let them know. Might be time to bag 'em.

Quite a coincidence these mail providers have gone down in a relatively short period of time. They say maintenance issues caused the outages. I wonder if there's an even bigger reason they've gone down?
