Facebook reportedly changed it's algorithm in the days after the US election to prioritize authoritative news sources in people's feeds.
According to the New York Times, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg approved the change, which saw Facebook increase the weight of its news ecosystem quality scores.

Twitter is set to relaunch its public verification program in 2021 and has called on users to give feedback on how the system works.
In a blog post, the company asked users to fill out a survey or tweeted the hashtag #VerificationFeedback before December 8, with the rules set to be released December 17.
