PlayStation Vita suffers from numerous teething issues

As you may have noticed, Sony has launched the PlayStation Vita in its home market, Japan. Unfortunately, one day in, reports of problems have flooded Twitter, and there's a patch already in the works.

As you may have noticed, Sony has launched the PlayStation Vita in its home market, Japan. Unfortunately, one day in, reports of problems have flooded Twitter, and there's a patch already in the works.

According to an official Sony statement, and, of course, our best friend Google Translate, problems include powering on, freezing, an inability to retrieve data and difficulties linking to a PlayStation Network (PSN) account.

Other issues being reported by other sites include spots on the OLED display and unresponsive touchscreens.

Hopefully Sony will have all of these teething problems sorted out by the time the unit launches in Hong Kong and Taiwan on 22December, and in Australia, Europe and North America on 22February 2012.
