Mortal Kombat 11 box art revealed
It's coming soon.
Mortal Kombat 11 is real. And it's real bloody.
Series co-creator Ed Boon revealed the box art for the game in a tweet Thursday.
"Happy to share with everyone the official cover art for Mortal Kombat 11 here!!" he wrote.
The art features iconic ninja Scorpion -- who's voiced by Boon in many of the games -- leaping in front of the series logo with his signature spear in hand.
The first trailer for the latest entry in the classic fighting series dropped at the Game Awards 2018 on Dec. 7. The video showcased a brutal fight between Raiden and Scorpion. When I say brutal, I mean put the kids to bed before you watch the trailer below:
The original Mortal Kombat was first released in 1992 and has seen 10 major releases since. Mortal Kombat 11 will be the first new game in the franchise since Mortal Kombat XL, which was released in 2016.
Hype levels will be high for this one, which will be released on April 23, 2019. Series baddie Shao Kahn is a preorder bonus and we might also see Spawn, the comic book antihero, show up as a playable character.
