GameSpy helps put Wii in multiplayer mode
GameSpy will supply technology to Nintendo Wii game publishers that enables online multiplayer gaming.
Users of Nintendo's Wii will soon be able to battle each other online just as their Nintendo DS counterparts do. Fox Interactive Media's GameSpy will share middleware technology with Wii game publishers that enables online multiplayer gaming, the companies announced Wednesday. GameSpy already provides technology for some community features on Wii titles.
The multiplayer-enabled games will also include friend rosters, matchmaking features and comprehensive rankings data, according to Nintendo. The first game to feature the new capabilities will be Pokemon Battle Revolution, due to launch on June 25.
