Oprah gets pwned by Shaq on Twitter

Your first day on Twitter can be rough. Twittering's still a brand new thing to a lot of people, and a lot of people have Twitterfails. Nobody on Twitter on Friday, though, got as much attention as Oprah, who tweeted for the first time.

Sadly, her inaugural tweet was all in caps. Thankfully, Shaquille O'Neal was there to remind the talk show host that her caps were on. We'd like to congratulate Shaq for having Oprah's back. That's what Twitter friends do for each other.

These sites of trying to communicate go on and on. Short attention spans, overloads, boredom, always looking for more and more do we ever find it? Fun trying.......however,

I have communication with only one person that is by post office (snail mail) delivery and truly look forward to receiving that letter once a week !!!!!

lol ... Not to post in all-caps is, probably for most of us, the first thing we learned, the first day and the very first time we used any electronic text medium, be it email, instant messaging or what have you.
That's not to say, we actually posted in all caps.
But you do have to be pretty unfamiliar with electronics devices not to know the no-all-caps rule.
We were all newbs once.
Welcome to the brave new world, O!

The "No-All-Caps" rule is actually not just electonic device specific, it's a basic, unspoken rule for anyone that speaks and write in the English language. I find it quite disturbing that the average IQ has fallen to 80. I blame it on the reliance of electronic devices, coupled with short attention spans. If I ever get oddly truncated words, or bizzare contractions of words, such as OMG, I play dumb until the person writing it spells it out. I refuse to deal with, on a personal basis, people that communicate on such a level.
by agent5959 April 18, 2009 5:36 PM PDT
@carlsoti, you do realize that the average IQ is consistently 100, right? The average IQ can't go down, because "average IQ" is a constant... always 100. Always.

I still haven't figured out what the whole "twitter" craze is all about? Just seems like a public "shoutbox" to me, what is so impressive about that??? I just don't understand the craze! *shrugs* I do see alot of the things people do with twitter, but don't understand how they are able to DO all that with twitter? ya know? to me all I can do with it is shout to the world about something, like you would do on facebook to update your status, whats the big deal about that? I don't get it.

I was a little underwhelmed by it also. I tweeted now and then but I often wondered if anyone was reading it or if I was just talking to myself. :) And then yesterday I found the twitter search box and decided to input a couple of items of interest and up popped a bunch of people discussing the very issues and I was psyched. I "followed" a bunch of them and they soon returned the favor and now we're tweeting ourselves silly. lol I even get updates on my cell now. I'm officially hooked. http://search.twitter.com/

If you have nothing more valuable to contribute to a conversation than you can do in 140 characters then your contribution is irrelevant and un(140)necessary in the first place. Most intelligent species can think in terms far more complex than the average moron.

So your post is 262 characters. Should that be the new standard? Should twitter make you their CIO? You apparently seem to know the exact number of characters we should use. Or should it be 261? Would 263 be extravagant? You tell us, so we can all bow to your intellectual superiority.
Out of curiosity, will you mandate that all haikus become exactly 262 characters? Just want to be sure my voice can be heard in your New World.
Perhaps there's some room up there for a little more knowledge (you're safe, it's wafer-thin.)

Shouldn't it be "tweeters', not 'twitters'? Or "twitterers".
