StuffIt Deluxe, Expander 11.0: Unexpected quits

CNET staff

Yesterday, Allume Systems released versions 11.0 of its line of StuffIt products, StuffIt Deluxe 11.0, StuffIt Expander 11.0, and StuffIt Standard Edition 11.0

Unexpected quits MacFixIt reader Jeff Hanson reports issues with unexpected quits occurring upon attempting to expand encrypted, stuffed files with the .sitx filename extension.

Jeff writes:

"In the new version of Stuffit Deluxe 11, if you open an encrypted StuffitX (.sitx) file and click cancel instead of typing in the password the Stuffit Archive Manager will quit Unexpectedly."

New Interface comments Some readers have commented unfavorably on the new StuffIt Deluxe interface. One reader writes:

"The new interface 'Archive Manager' is a bit much for people who just want to open a stuffed file and not have to see every compressed file on there computer in a window as well, they need to make a way to turn that part off."
