Now Spanish-language Mac users can participate in the same disappearing RAM guessing game that has plagued English-language users for the last several weeks. (See previous one, two, three, and four.) Julio César Penagos writes:

"FirmWare 4.1.7 (Spanish version) has appeared in the Software Update control panel. The Read me file has no mention of possible RAM problems, and I wonder if the Spanish version will disable RAM also. DIMMCheck will not run on my machine, probably because it uses the Spanish version of Mac OS 9.1"

We do not know if the Spanish language firmware update has the potential to disable RAM modules.
