SerialDMA 2.1 and Palm Pilot: good news Jeff Blake writes that installing the new SerialDMA 2.1 Update fixed the problem where the Palm Pilot cradle is not recognized at startup (and you have to use the work-around of starting a HotSync from the Pilot cradle rather than from the HotSync control panel - as described here at MacFixIt previously). Kit Halsted reported similar good news, although still had some problems with getting a successful sync-ing. Expect all of this to be addressed by the new MacPac software due out next month.

SerialDMA 2.1 problems with cameras On the other hand, Evan Sadler reports that the SerialDMA 2.1 Update did not fix problems he had with using a Casio camera connected to a PowerBook 3400c. David Shauger found that the Update actually caused errors when copying images from a QuickTake 200 to his G3 Series laptop. Disabling the Update fixed the problem.
