Security Update 2006-008 Special Report: Universal Access options inadvertently turned on (black box around cursor, etc.)
Some users are reporting recurrence of an issue where Universal Access options are inadvertently turned on after applying Security Update 2006-008. This can be typified by an unexpected black box around the cursor and other items.
This issue can be resolved by turning off the "Show preview rectangle when zoomed out" option in the Universal Access access pane of System Preferences (under Zoom > Options). While you're in the Universal Access pane, check for other options that are accidentally turned on.
