Security Update 2006-008 Special Report: Unexpected quits
A handful of users are reporting previously non-existent unexpected quits from various applications after applying Security Update 2006-008.
In some cases, unexpected quits an other issues can be resolved by deleting specific system caches.
Try deleting files that start with "com.apple.LaunchServices" from the /Library/Caches folder, then quit and re-launch afflicted applications.
Failing that, try using the cache clearing routines offered by utilities like Cocktail, Mac Pilot or Tiger Cache Cleaner.
