Security Update 2006-008 Special Report: Problems launching Photoshop
Oddly, some users have reported problems launching Photoshop (various versions) after applying Security Update 2006-008.
MacFixIt reader Giesbert Nijhuis writes: "After Security Update 2006-008, Photoshop CS2 (9.0.1) always crashes while starting up. I tried all suggestions so far, but no luck."
In some cases, the problem may be soluble by the following process:
- Navigate to the Photoshop folder (located the Applications folder)
- Open the "Plug-ins" folder, then the "Import/Export" folder
- Temporarily remove or rename (to disable) the "TWAIN" plug-in.
