Mac OS 9.1: Connection Issue With Some USB Modems TIL article #31322 confirms what we have previously reported in out Mac OS 9.1 Report: "After updating to Mac OS 9.1, some types of USB modems will not respond properly when attempting to connect to an ISP." Apple explains why: "The standard USB modem driver included in Mac OS 9.1 is based on the USB Communications Device Class (CDC) specifications. Early USB modems that are not compliant with the CDC specifications may no longer behave as expected." The only solutions are to get a modem update (if one exists), downgrade to Mac OS 9.0.4, or get a new modem.

About the GeForce2 MX Driver Update and Software TIL article #75115 contains a statement relevant to our previous coverage of a display glitch related to this software: "If you use the new NVIDIA extensions with the 1017F1 version firmware, or the new firmware with older extensions, the screen image may appear shifted to one side of your display. To temporarily fix the screen image, change the screen resolution using the Monitors Control Panel or the Monitor Resolution Control Strip. Then run this Update installer to install the new graphics card firmware and new system extensions."

Disc Burner: How to Use Saved Disk Images TIL article #60827 explains what to do with the Disk Copy image file named "DiscBurnerImage" that may be created if a burn did not successfully complete. Essentially, if the burn fails and you get an error message such as "The burn cannot proceed because the startup disk is full," you may still be able to use the DiscBurnerImage to complete the burn.

Mac OS: "Unable to establish a secure connection" or "security certificate" Messages in Web Browsers TIL article #106211 notes that Web browser software relies on correct date and time settings to make secure connections to the Internet. An incorrect date can cause the above errors.
