Quick fix for Epson Print Utility issues

MacFixit reader Micahel Mortilla notes a quick fix for issues with the Epson Print Utility that routinely occur after significant Mac OS X system updates.

Michael writes:

"My Epson Print Utility went south again after the last OS and/or Security Update. Actually froze the G5. After scouring several forums and not liking the answers (deleting all Epson printers, reinstalling, using Pacifist to extract just the drivers you need (yadda yadda yadda) I decided to try something different. It worked!

"Drag the Epson Print Utility to the desktop (while holding down the option key), copying the application, not just moving it. Then drag it back from whence it came, replacing the original you had copied to the desktop.

"Voila! The utility worked again. I am guessing that copying somehow rebuilds the app. Whatever it does, I now know which ink I am out of and can align my heads"
