Photoshop Color Settings: bug or feature?: a follow-up

Regarding our recent "debate" as to whether Photoshop 6's Color Setting behavior is a bug or a feature, Jon Kane argues that there is still a bug in the system. He replies: "What Andrew Rodney says is correct, but there is still a bug with how Photoshop is previewing the color settings on screen. It is very easy to replicate. Here is an example that can be done in any color space setting other than the default (web). I will use grayscale to keep it simple. First open Photoshop and change your working color space. I used RGB=ColorMatch RGB, CMYK=US Sheetfed Coated v2, Gray=Dot Gain 20%, Spot=Dot Gain 20%. Quit Photoshop to save settings. Re-open Photoshop and create a new document, Mode=Grayscale. Fill the new document with a 30% tint of gray. Go back into the Color Settings, and with the preview button checked, change the Gray setting from Dot Gain 10% to Day Gain 30% and back again. Your new document, filled with 30% gray, should lighten or darken to reflect the percentage of dot gain you have set in the color settings. At least on all the machines I have tested it does not change, and it should. Because you are working with a new document there are no embedded profiles, so your document should reflect any changes made in the color settings."
