Symantec Update CDs not yet available Last week we covered a Symantec knowledge base article that claims users can obtain updated, bootable CDs for Norton Utilities and SystemWorks by calling a phone number listed in that article. Unfortunately, reader Eugene Fields reports that the procedure isn't quite so simple, and that the CDs aren't yet available:

"I just spent over an Hour trying to get my Norton disks updated. The phone number on the Symantec Web page (that shoud not be up, according to Symantec -- they were sorry) for the contact is bad -- the Mac number is 1.888.265.4922.

"After waiting forever to get a person @ the Mac number, I was informed the disk won't be ready till Aug 20 and there is no way to order them now. Call back, sorry! I spent an hour on this for nothing."

Spring Cleaning 7 won't work in Standard Mode Reader Joel Zisk reports that the latest version of Spring Cleaning (v7.0) only functions in Advanced Mode:

"[The] new version has a bug and will not work in standard mode. You have to change to advanced mode until this is fixed. They are aware of this and are working on it for the next upgrade."
