Odds and Ends: Outlook support coming in MSN 9.0, for Mac version too?

While Microsoft plans to unveil an Exchange-enabled version of Entourage (its industrial strength e-mail client) later this year, Mac OS X consumers without relatively price app will presumably still be left out of corporate Outlook networks.

Yesterday, Microsoft demonstrated a forthcoming feature of MSN 9.0 ? called Outlook Connector for MSN ? at its annual Financial Analyst Meeting. According to a Microsoft Watch report, "The Connector will allow for 'rich integration scenarios,' such as the ability to drag contacts from a personal account to a work account. Users will be able to share calendars with pre-designated friends and colleagues. And all changes made to personal and business schedules and contacts that are made offline will be synchronized automatically when users go online later."

It is as-of-yet unclear whether or not Microsoft will integrate these services into MSN for Mac OS X, which is currently an actively developed product.

We are following up with the Macintosh Business Unit at Microsoft for more information.
