Symantec has released Symantec Norton Utilities 6.0.3 via LiveUpdate. There is no standalone installer yet. Here is a look at what is new in this MacFixIt Toolbox Hall of Fame utility (From the Read Me):
- Improved efficiency of File Saver updates
- Increased File Saver compatibility with disks with large catalog trees or large numbers of files
- Improved handling of unrecognized Unicode text encodings
- Addressed an issue in which certain Speed Disk Profiles caused unexpected results when optimizing
- Updated Norton Disk Editor Plus included on CD
- Updated Register Your software URL
According to the installer log, the following files changed on our system. Norton Shared Lib, and Norton CM Plugin. However, we suspect that the log is incomplete.
Update: R. Lynn Rardin writes: "The update that LiveUpdate pulls down is actually composed of 13 installers, each of which updates one or more components of NUM. I believe each installer overwrites the log file from the previous installer, so what you're seeing in the log file that remains after the update is the results for the last installer only."
