Norton Utilities 7.01: DTDaemon issue remains?

CNET staff
Anthony Kassir writes: "The Norton Utilities 7.0.1 update reinstalls the DTDaemon file, and with it, at least some of the problems previously reported to be caused by this file. For example, after installing the update, my Dual 800 MHz Power Mac G4 running OS X 10.1.5 again fails to shut down completely, on an intermittent but increasingly frequent basis. Removing the file from /Library/Application Support/Norton Solutions Support/Norton Utilities/ solved the problem."

Last May, Symantec replied on this matter as follows: "This is an issue we are aware off and we are currently investigating this matter. Hopefully we will have an update for this situation quite shortly. The DTDaemon file is the deletion tracking portion of FileSaver and you will not loose all functionality by removing it from your system."
