In addition to adopting the MacBook Air's multi-touch trackpad, Apple's newly introduced (early 2008) MacBooks and MacBook Pros borrow another capability from their slimmer sibling: the ability to perform a system migration wirelessly. A recently posted Knowledge Base document from Apple reads:

"FireWire connections are still the fastest way to migrate applications and data from an older computer to your new computer, however, these new models now offer the ability to perform a system migration over network connections. This gives you more choices and flexibility in migrating your applications and data."

In order to use network migration, you will need to install the DVD or CD Sharing Setup software found on installatoin DVD 1, onto the source computer to enable the connection. Apple says you shouldn't let your source computer go to sleep while you are migrating.
