IDC: It would be very "Jobsian" to introduce a Video iPod IDC Analyst Roger Kay says it would be a "very Jobsian move to say (a portable video device is) stupid and bring one out anyway," The Reuters article continues "While Jobs has publicly downplayed the notion of a video iPod, saying that most people don't want to watch videos when they're on the move, many in the industry have been expecting such a product for some time." Instead, the growing collection of MSN Services, especially the pending 'Kahuna' Hotmail upgrade and Microsoft's as-yet-unannounced hosted SMB collaboration bundle, will be what the Redmondians pit against the new "StarOffice in the sky" offering." Review of .Mac PC Magazine has a brief review of .Mac, concluding "While .Mac's many tools will be useful to most Mac users, they aren't robust enough to call the collection essential." More.
