Apple offers bandwidth upgrade for .Mac Apple has introduced a new upgrade option to .Mac subscribers. The option allows users to increase the amount of storage they have available, while upgrading the amount of bandwidth they are allowed to use. Macworld UK reports "Until now, .Mac members have seen bandwidth capped at 3GB per month. With Apple?s focus on encouraging developers to integrate their applications with .Mac, and Mac OS X 10.4?s significant system-wide integration with the service, some users may soon find they need more bandwidth than is presently available." New worm poses as iTunes file, does not affect Macs PC World reports on a new worm, WORM_OPANKI.Y, which is circulating online. It poses as an iTunes file and is spreading using AOL Instant Messenger. While it does not affect Mac users, it does affect most breeds of the Windows OS. "[...] when activated the worm actually sends a message to all online contacts of an affected user, which reads, 'this picture never gets old.' Each message has a link to a URL where users download a file that appears to be a JPEG." More.

Will you stick with Apple after the Intel switch? A Slashdot posting poses that question, with a user writing "I have used Macs since I grew up, was a loyal 'Mac Evangelist' back in the '90's, but the company's decision and the recent connection to Trust Computing have had me wondering if I will stick with the old Apple from now on. What are your thoughts?" More.
