Adobe Systems CFO resigns The San Jose Mercury News reports that Adobe Systems' Chief Financial Officer Randy Furr has resigned. "The company gave no reason for the resignation, but said it was unrelated to work performed at Adobe or the company's financial statements. [...] Furr was president and chief operating officer of electronics manufacturer Sanmina-SCI from 1996 till he resigned in October 2005, citing personal reasons. Last month, the company said it would restate earnings due to improperly dated stock-option grants from 1997 to 2006." More.

Microsoft ready for the mosh pit? CNET speculates on the success Microsoft's Zune will experience against Apple's tenable portable music player dominance. "That Zune is a clunky iPod-look-alike that offers little sex appeal underscores one of the most important questions about Microsoft's foray into the music business. Is the software king in tune enough with music fans to coax them away from Apple Computer and CEO Steve Jobs?" Buying a Mac with Windows XP pre-installed Digital Journal reports that MacMall has announced that it will offer buyers the option to install Windows XP on the full line of Macs it resells. "MacMall is the only large Mac direct marketing reseller we?re aware of marketing bundles of Apple's new systems which come with pre-loaded software to work in both the Windows and Macintosh worlds as soon as they unpack their system."
