Apple nominated for Wired Rave awards Users can vote for Apple products in several categories in the 2001 Rave Awards. (We suggest hitting the mute button before hitting the site, the 'soundtrack' is rather obnoxious.)

UK PowerBook prices cut Following Apple's PowerBook price cuts in the US last week, Macworld UK reports that the prices have been cut in the UK as well. According to the magazine, "The 400MHz model now costs £1,599, down from £1,899. The 500MHz 20GB model costs £2,199, down from £2,499."

Blue Abuse debuts From Totally Hip's web site: "Blue Abuse is a showcase of interactive QuickTime content that covers everything from complete QuickTime sites to individual QuickTime movies. Our goal is to promote interactive video by showing "what is possible", and how easily it can be created."

Confirmed! All Macs go to Heaven Wonder what happens to extra Macs after Apple discontinues them? Those that avoid museums and award shows are sent to a liquidator who evidently has customers in high places. Check out last Sunday's Homer cartoon on the non-sequitur Web site. We can't help but wonder if Windows computers are the mainstay in that other afterlife destination.
