A Logitech Web page has links to troubleshooting articles for its "Pointing Devices." These articles include the following: "MouseWare must load after SnapzPro..." error MouseWare M3.5 implements it's INIT code in a different manner than previous releases. This change results in this error message, even if SnapzPro is not installed on the system. Renaming either control panels will not resolved the issue. However, Logitech is working on a release which will resolve this error message and restore scrolling functionality. Erratic Cursor Behavior in Games: After installing MouseWare M3.5, you may notice erratic cursor behavior in games such as Quake or Unreal. This is due to the way MouseWare passes mouse information to applications that request it. At this time there are no workarounds. Scrolling Does Not Work in AppleWorks 6.x Logitech is aware of a compatibility issue with scrolling in AppleWorks 6.x, where scrolling may cause the application to lock up. Currently, with the way MouseWare M3.x implements scroll wheel support, scrolling may not work in any application built using the PowerPlant architecture. Logitech is currently investigating possible resolutions. However, contrary to our previous item, Logitech informs us that the next update to MouseWare will be version 3.5.1, not 4.0. While it will fix the Snapz error and games issues, it will not fix the scrolling error in AppleWorks. Nor will it fix scrolling issues with Sherlock, Conflict Catcher, etc. They add: "We are anticipating the 3.5.x release to be available for customers to download in the next week or two. Customers experiencing the problem now have the option to receive the beta version now and download the final when it is available. If customers would like to do this, they can contact Logitech Customer Support via the web or by phone, and they will be contacted by a support representative who will send them the software. We are looking at the release following 3.5.1 to fix some of these scrolling issues in other applications such as Sherlock, AppleWorks, and other programs that have reported problems with scrolling."
