More QuickTime 3.0 items

QuickTime conflict with Journeyman Project Michael Cucka writes that, after updating to QuickTime 3.0, transitions scenes do not appear properly in Journeyman Project 3 Legacy of Time. Broderbund replies: "QuickTime 3.0 was not tested with Journeyman Project 3 Legacy of Time. It will be necessary to install the 2.5 version that came with the program. Our program will need to be updated for compatibility with 3.0."

Update: Several readers report no problem here. I may have more details next time.

Fix for sound problems related to QuickTime 3.0? Steven Massey claims that he fixed the sound-related problems caused by Sound Manager 3.3 (installed as part of QuickTime 3.0, as reported here last time), by starting up with extensions off and delete the Monitors & Sound and Sound preferences files.

Update Jim Rhoades claims that rebuilding the desktop, immediately before or after deleting these files, may be needed to get this tip to work.
